It took nine years for Brock Lesnar and Caín Velásquez to come face to face again. And although their rivalry was born in the UFC octagon, it will now be transferred to a WWE ring, at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
Despite Caín Velásquez's little experience as a professional wrestler (he fought in Mexico before joining WWE), the company decided to hire him for this anticipated match. Three weeks ago, he appeared and, as expected, attacked Lesnar after Lesnar injured Rey Mysterio.
It was only a matter of days before the fight had a date and place: this Thursday in the main event of Crown Jewel, with the WWE title on the line. And in the pre-event, both were face to face in a kind of weigh-in ceremony.
Caín Velásquez was the first to step on the scale (113.3 kilos), followed by Lesnar, who outweighed him by more than 10 kilos (129 kilos). "I'm ready and I've been waiting for this for a long time. I'll have extra motivation because of everything I've experienced in recent weeks (with Rey Mysterio)," declared the challenger.
