Colombia suffers first substitution in the game against Peru
At minute 20 of the match, Colombia had to make the first substitution in the game against Peru due to an injury suffered by midfielder Edwin Valencia. He injured his right leg after colliding with an opposing player.
Valencia's injury history
When his foot made contact with the ground, his knee twisted. He showed intense pain while on the ground, and his teammates requested the substitution. The player was taken off the field on a stretcher and an official medical report is expected.
The player had previous issues with his right knee last year, which prevented him from being called up for the friendly match against Brazil in September 2014.
He also couldn't be part of the team that played in the 2014 World Cup due to a relapse in his calf injury.
