In the second week of airing both shows, AEW surpassed NXT - WWE's third show - in viewership. This in the so-called 'Wednesday night war'. This time, the new company had higher ratings on TNT and TruTV.
In TNT, AEW had 1,018,000 viewers, but it was also simulcast on TruTV and gained an additional 122,000 viewers. With that, their total rating was 1,140,000 viewers.
Meanwhile, NXT had an audience of 790,000 people. And although AEW was the most-watched show, both programs saw a decrease in their viewership compared to their debuts. WWE's show dropped by 11% and the new company decreased by 19%.
It is worth noting that Chris Jericho and Sami Guevara defeated Dustin Rhodes and Adam Page in the main event of AEW's second show. On the other hand, in NXT, Walter defeated Kushida in the main event of WWE's program.
