Although everything indicates that his next opponent will be Tony Ferguson, Khabib Nurmagomedov doesn't lose hope of having his dream fight against Georges St-Pierre. And now the former UFC champion has spoken about this possibility.
In a recent interview with Helen Yee Sports, Georges St-Pierre stated that he is retired from mixed martial arts. However, he expressed openness to negotiate if he receives an important proposal.
"I am retired, and for a reason. But if something comes up, UFC knows where to find me, but right now, I am content with where I am," the Canadian said regarding a possible matchup against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
"I am always training. I don't train only because I have a fight. I train because I love training. I love being in shape, and I am always dedicated to learning about MMA," he added. On the other hand, he assured that Tony Ferguson should be the next lightweight title contender for Khabib.
"100% Tony Ferguson. I think it will be a good fight, but I don't know who will win. It will depend on who can impose their strategy. Tony likes to use his elbows and knees. That's his style. Khabib, on the other hand, likes to control his opponents when they are on the ground. They have different styles, making it difficult to predict the outcome," he concluded.
