A few days away from facing Donald Cerrone in the main event of UFC Vancouver in Canada, Justin Gaethje not only thinks about what that night will be like, but also about his next goal in the promotion. He revealed this in an interview with MMA Fighting.
According to Gaethje, if he emerges victorious against Cerrone, he would have two great alternatives as his next opponents. "I think there are two options for me: (Khabib Nurmagomedov) whoever wins against Tony, or fight against Conor (McGregor)," he said.
The latter seems more feasible, as a couple of weeks ago McGregor himself revealed that UFC offered him a fight against Gaethje in July for his comeback. However, the Irishman ended up injuring his hand during training.
"I'm trying to be the best in the world. He (Conor McGregor) is in the way," said Gaethje, who is seeking his third consecutive victory in the lightweight division.
