Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier were ready for what will be the main fight of UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). Both fighters made weight in the lightweight category and had their final faceoff.
The Yas Island's The Arena in Abu Dhabi was filled with fans for the official weigh-in ceremony. They were expecting to see Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, Dustin Poirier was the first to come out, weighing 70.3 kilos.

When the 'Eagle' came out, the Abu Dhabi crowd chanted his name. On the scale, he registered the same weight as the 'Diamond' (70.3 kilos). During the faceoff, both stared at each other for several seconds.
"It has been a great journey to get here, but tomorrow I will reach the top. I will leave the arena with the unified titles," said Poirier. Khabib, on the other hand, thanked his fans for their support. "I'm ready, I've been preparing for this fight for a whole year, I will defend my title and continue making history," he replied.
It should be noted that Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier will fight for the unification of the lightweight titles. Khabib is the champion of the division, while Dustin holds the interim belt.
