The President of the Organizing Committee of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, Carlos Neuhaus, stated that the departments that will be awarded to the Peruvian athletes who won medals in the competition will be ready from January 2020.
He explained on Canal N that after the Parapan American Games, which will take place from August 22nd to September 1st, the departments will have to be adapted to be awarded to the medal-winning athletes.
It should be noted that the departments are located in the Pan American and Parapan American Village, in the district of Villa El Salvador. Currently, athletes who have come to Lima for these important competitions are staying in this housing complex.
"The departments will be ready from January of next year, because they have to be transformed from a Pan American and Parapan American mode to a housing mode. For example, the kitchen was used as a bedroom and meals were served in a large tent," Neuhaus explained.
"Some departments will have to be adapted. For example, a fairly large room will be divided in half to create two bedrooms, so that everyone has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, dining room, and kitchen," he added.
On the other hand, Neuhaus commented that if the country did not fulfill the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games, it would have been removed from international sports circuits. Finally, he thanked all the personalities who showed their support for these major sporting events.
"We have worked because we had to fulfill a commitment of Peru, if we didn't comply, we would have been removed from international sports circuits. I thank everyone who has supported us and those who have also changed their minds at some point," he emphasized.
