High-level mixed martial arts return to Latin America. It is the UFC Uruguay, which will take place at the Antel Arena in Montevideo and whose main fight will be between Valentina Shevchenko and the American Liz Carmouche. The flyweight title will be at stake.
This UFC event, which will take place on Saturday, August 10, will have a total of 10 fights in the feared octagon: four in the preliminaries and six in the main card. Will it be televised? Yes, it will be broadcasted by FOX Sports (501 Movistar - 604 DirecTV - 61 Claro) throughout Latin America.
The preliminary fights will start at 5:00 PM (Peruvian time) and the main card will begin at 7:00 PM. However, in the United States, the channel responsible for broadcasting this event will be ESPN.
Valentina won the flyweight title by defeating the Polish Joanna Jędrzejczyk at UFC 231. Then, at UFC 238, she successfully defended it by knocking out the American Jessica Eye. So, she expects to come out victorious from this new fight.
However, her opponent Liz Carmouche has already beaten her (in fact, she is one of the two fighters who have defeated 'Bullet' Shevchenko), but it was in 2010 at C3 Fights: Red River Rivalry. Things are different now.
Meanwhile, in the co-main event, the Brazilian Vicente Luque will face the American Mike Perry in the welterweight division. In UFC Uruguay, two Peruvians will also fight: Humberto Bandenay and Enrique Barzola.
