Marlos Moraes delivers spectacular knockout at UFC Utica
When all attendees at the Adirondack Bank Center in New York were settling in for the main event of UFC Utica, Marlos Moraes delivered one of the most spectacular knockouts. The Brazilian defeated Jimmie Rivera in just 33 seconds.
Although both fighters were cautious in the first round of UFC Utica, Marlos Moraes took a risk with a low kick. After that, the Brazilian faked a punch but ended up connecting a brutal head kick to Jimmie Rivera.
Immediately, the American fighter fell to the ground and Moraes took advantage to continue with the ground and pound. When he was no longer offering resistance, the referee was forced to stop the UFC Utica fight.
With this result, Marlos Moraes achieved his 21st victory in mixed martial arts, and his third officially in the UFC. Meanwhile, Rivera suffered his first defeat in six fights in the Dana White's company.
"I want to fight for the UFC bantamweight title. I want to be the champion. This is how someone who deserves to fight for the title should fight," said Marlos Moraes after his impressive victory in Utica, New York.
