Triple Triple is a thing of the past for Usain Bolt
The Triple Triple is already forgotten for Usain Bolt. This Thursday, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS) rejected an appeal to recover the gold medal won at the Beijing Olympics. The request was made by his teammate, Nesta Carter, who tested positive for doping eight years later. Carter ran the first leg of the 4x100 meters relay, in which Usain Bolt took charge of the third leg, and Jamaica set a world record of 37.10 seconds.
In a new analysis of the Beijing samples carried out by the International Olympic Committee in 2016, Carter tested positive for the stimulant methylhexanamine. The Jamaican team was disqualified and lost the title of the short relay race.
This case deprives Usain Bolt of perfection in his Olympic career: three gold medals in the 100, 200 and 4x100 in three consecutive Games in 2008, 2012 and 2016.
