Combate Americas Cage Returns to Tijuana

The Combate Americas cage returned to Tijuana with an event led by Mexican talent who will be facing fighters from other countries. The 18 fighters attended the weigh-in today, which will take place at the Municipal Auditorium.

From Mexico City, Marco Antonio Elpidio headlines the event against Andrés Quintana in a featherweight matchup. Both fighters come off wins in the promotion and are on weight for their fight, with Elpidio weighing in at 146.9 pounds and his opponent at 145.8.

The co-main event was scheduled to be a lightweight showdown between Rodrigo Vargas and former UFC fighter Mike De La Torre, but it has been replaced by a bout between Mexican Kevin Amador and the undefeated Eduardo Torres, who is making his promotional debut. The Chilean fighter weighed in at 134.8, while Amador came in over the limit with an extra pound.

Kicking off the main card is a clash between Mexico and Brazil. Cristian Quiñónez will represent the Mexicans against an undefeated opponent. Both fighters are within the bantamweight division's limit, with Quiñónez at 134.6 and his opponent at 135.6. Things got heated during their faceoff after the weigh-in and they had to be separated.
