Del Potro injured in Masters 1000 de Roma
Injuries always raise alarms, especially when it comes to Juan Martín del Potro. The Argentine suffered one this Thursday in the round of 16 of the Masters 1000 de Roma against Belgian David Goffin.
Del Potro, who had lost the first set 6-2 but was winning the second 5-4, retired from the match after an hour and 48 minutes on the court. It was due to severe pain in his left adductor.
"I felt something strange in my leg during the first set. The pain made it very difficult for me to move and slip," explained the Argentine tennis player.
Juan Martín del Potro was examined by doctors in Rome. The Argentine tennis player and his team decided to wait until Friday to undergo further tests to assess the extent of the injury and decide if he will be in condition for Roland Garros.
