Max Biaggi dominates the first day of Superbike training in Misano

He knows the track well, in fact he knows all the tracks that make up the Superbike World Championship, but it's still surprising that Max Biaggi has been the king in the first day of training in Misano. The Corsair, about to turn 44 years old, has been the fastest in the first practice session, as well as in the second, which was interrupted by a red flag due to a serious accident involving Christophe Ponsson.

Biaggi's Aprilia was the winner at the start of the eighth round of the championship. In the first session, he only gave up the fastest time once to Chaz Davies, who ultimately finished second, 0.472 seconds behind Max: 1:35.684. Behind the Aprilia and Ducati riders was the championship leader, Jonathan Rea, 0.517 seconds behind Biaggi.

In the second session, Max shone again (1:35.380) even though Davide Giugliano took the lead shortly before the end of the session. Jordi Torres achieved the seventh best time and finished as the best Spanish rider in the training session, which was marred by Ponsson's accident. The Frenchman from the Pedercini Team lost control of his Kawasaki and crashed. He was taken to the medical center by ambulance.
