The deplorable performance by Conor McGregor in Brooklyn last week would have forced the UFC to drastically change its plans. It appears that the company was about to officially announce their rematch against Floyd Mayweather, but this time inside the octagon.
Floyd Mayweather has reportedly set several conditions for the UFC before agreeing to a second fight against Conor McGregor: the former world boxing champion does not want to take as many risks in his cage debut.
According to Omar Al Raisi, editor of The Sports Journal, one of Dubai's most important media outlets, Floyd Mayweather has asked the UFC for some changes to the traditional rules of mixed martial arts (MMA).
"Floyd Mayweather will fight Conor McGregor in the octagon with four-ounce gloves, without shoes, and five rounds of five minutes in the lightweight division," the journalist explained about the highly anticipated fight in the UFC.
"Kicks, takedowns, elbows, and knees will not be allowed. But some things, like the clinch (Muay Thai style clinch combined with knee strikes), will be allowed," added Al Raisi, who assured that the UFC had accepted these requests.

The bad news is that, after Conor McGregor's attack on the fighters' bus in New York, the UFC is reportedly considering cutting all ties with the Irish fighter.
