Football catches the attention of Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The former world boxing champion assured the British press that if there were a smart proposal, he would not hesitate to invest his capital in the Premier League team, to which he would bring the Portuguese star.

The former world boxing champion assured the British press that if there were a smart proposal, he would not hesitate to invest his capital in the Premier League team, to which he would bring the Portuguese star.

Floyd Mayweather Jr., former world champion in five different weight classes, would be interested in becoming a shareholder of Newcastle, a team that would bring Cristiano Ronaldo to.

"I love Newcastle. Those guys like to party as hard as I have not seen in any other city I've been to in the world," Mayweather said to the Chronicle Live, in an interview reproduced by the Daily Star last Sunday.

Despite expressing his liking for the city and the fans, the undefeated former champion indicated that he would not hesitate to invest his capital, as long as it was a "smart business."

"I met some players last year, and they are good guys. I'm always open to new business opportunities and I love all sports, but I invest with my head and not my heart," clarified the 41-year-old boxer.

"Investing with your heart is the fastest way to lose money. But if someone organized a business plan and my people reviewed it and said, 'Floyd can make money,' then I would invest. Football may not be my sport, but I have connections everywhere."

GOING BIG

Floyd Mayweather, who is preparing for a possible fight with a million dollar purse in mixed martial arts against Conor McGregor, said he would like to have Cristiano Ronaldo on his team.

"Cristiano Ronaldo has been a follower and friend of mine for a long time, so I could even get him to end his career at Newcastle," he concluded.
