Controversy surrounds Brazil-Colombia match

The Brazil-Colombia match ended with controversy and it seems like it will continue, at least, until Friday (at 18:00 Spain time), when the allegations of those involved will be known after the sanctions of a game to Neymar and Bacca for the incidents after the final whistle. This Thursday, the Conmebol announced that the sanction for the Barcelona player was two games and one hour later rectified and reduced it to one.

The Brazilian Football Confederation is already preparing the defense to avoid Neymar missing the third group stage match against Venezuela. And Brazil is going all out. The legal director of the CBF confirmed to Globoesporte that they will base their case on the fact that the Chilean assistant referee Carlos Astroza called Neymar a 'diver' several times. "The linesman spent the whole game calling him a diver. That ended up rattling Neymar. Neymar tells this version and it is confirmed by the doctor and by Dunga himself," says Eugenio Lopes.

The Brazilian official also takes refuge in the fact that Neymar did not know that the match had ended when he kicked Armero and started the fight. "Neymar believed that the ball was still in play. Proof of this is that the Colombian player turns around to intercept the shot. He kicked and hit the player."

The Brazilian legal director expressed the country's indignation with the way Neymar is being treated. "Neymar is a player who cannot use his skills. The other day, against Peru, he did a double sombrero and was warned by the referee. And then he gets fouled in every game and the referees do nothing. It is outrageous," he said.

On the other hand, the referee of the match, Enrique Osses, wrote in the report that Neymar insulted him when they were entering the dressing room tunnel: "You want to make yourself famous at my expense, son of a bitch," reported Lancenet.
