Charlotte Flair received bad news in the latest edition of WWE's SmackDown Live: the blonde will have to defend her blue brand women's title on March 11 against Ruby Riott at Fastlane.
This all started with a brutal team fight that was scheduled for the WWE show, where the Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan, and Liv Morgan) faced off against the trio of Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Naomi.
The match was pretty evenly matched, but Ruby Riott took advantage of the battle that broke out in the ring at the end to connect a brutal kick on Becky Lynch. And thus she took the win for her team in the count.
At the end of the match, Charlotte Flair sent a defiant message to the entire WWE universe. "If Ruby Riott wants me to put my belt on the line at Fastlane, so be it," she said.
A few minutes later, Ruby Riott cut a promo accepting Charlotte Flair's challenge, officially setting up their fight on March 11 at Fastlane.
