CONMEBOL have backtracked on the two-match suspension issued to Neymar just one hour after the sentence was served. The Copa América Disciplinary Board had handed the player a two-match suspension as punishment for his dismissal in last night’s game against Colombia. The Barça player had already accrued a one-match ban for the first booking he picked up in the game and was a dealt a second suspension for being sent off.It would have meant that the player would be unavailable until the semi-final stage of the tournament -should Brazil progress.
However, the Disciplinary Board made a surprise decision to rectify their original ban, reducing the peunishment to just one game, which means that Neymar will miss the final group game against Venezuela but will be able to return after that.
