James Ellsworth was only on the main roster of WWE for a year. And although he received a great role from the creative team during that short time, he was released from his contract at the end of 2017 because his character seemed to have no direction within the company.
This week, James Ellsworth was interviewed on Chris Jericho's podcast, where he detailed the tough moments he experienced when he found out he would not continue in WWE. And the important role that Carmella played during that bitter moment.
"I had my faith that I could last about 5 or 10 years in WWE, but I felt that they saw me as something with a short lifespan from the beginning. [...] When I found out that I wouldn't continue, I felt great frustration and couldn't hold back the tears. But then a call came from Carmella," said James Ellsworth.
"Carmella stayed on the phone with me as long as she could. That's how great she is. We still keep in touch, we text each other almost every day," added James Ellsworth, who helped the 'Princess' win the first women's Money in the Bank briefcase in WWE.
"I appreciate all the opportunities I received. I had a great time. I loved it, I enjoyed every moment. The glass is half full because I'm not completely happy. I would have liked to do more in WWE, and hopefully, in the future, I will. But I had a lot of fun," concluded James Ellsworth.
