In the main event of SmackDown in Kansas, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn fought to determine the challenger for the WWE title. And since his championship was involved, AJ Styles witnessed the match at the broadcast table.
However, their mere presence distracted the Canadians and when both were outside the ring, they provoked the 'Phenomenal One'. Although the WWE champion always remains calm, this time he decided not to stay silent and responded with punches.
Styles' attack caused the match to have no result; therefore, there was no winner nor challenger for the top prize. Until Daniel Bryan appeared to solve the matter, as the blue manager made an important announcement.
"Since the match ended without a winner, I have to inform the following: at Fastlane, AJ Styles will defend the WWE title against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a triple threat match", said Bryan, to the surprise of those involved.
Upon hearing the news, the Canadians showed their agreement; however, Styles expressed his negativity. It's because he already successfully defended the WWE title against the 'Yep movement leaders' at Royal Rumble and now he will do it again on March 11th.
