25 years since Julio César Chávez broke the attendance record for a boxing match by packing the Estadio Azteca, Alberto Sosa, CEO of Televisa Group Operations, revealed that among the plans for this season's "Saturdays of Boxing" is the possibility of hosting an event at the Coloso de Santa Úrsula to please the fans.

"This is an instruction we have from the company, to organize an event there, there are generations that don't know about that fight (Chávez vs. Haugen). The project is a medium-term goal, right now we are starting the second phase of what we want for Estadio Azteca, which will undergo renovations. It is difficult to give a specific date as we will have to follow the stadium's timeline," commented the executive.

During the presentation of the 2018 boxing season, the collaboration with Golden Boy Promotions was highlighted. Golden Boy Promotions is the company that manages the future of Sál Álvarez, and the season will begin with the transmission of the bouts between Jorge Linares and Lucas Matthysse scheduled for February 27 in Inglewood, California.

With the presence of fighters such as Abner Mares, Mariana Juárez, Rey Vargas, and Esmeralda Moreno, as well as former champions Jhonny González and Julio Ceja, and prospects like Eduardo Hernández and Misael Rodríguez, the company assured that they hope to continue the great momentum that the sport has had. It was reported that last year they averaged nearly 8,000 fans per event, while the card held at the Zócalo in Mexico City attracted over 50,000 spectators.
