A smiling face and a comment like a whisper were enough for Marcos René Maidana to once again be at the center of controversy due to a post on his Instagram account.
The Chino shared a video where he is seen with a firearm shooting towards the water of a small stream located in his native Margarita, a small commune belonging to the Vera department in Santa Fe.
"One bullet, bro," can be heard at the end of the brief video shared by the former boxer, referring to the revolver and its shooting power.
The boxer, who gained notoriety due to his fights with Floyd Mayweather, had already been involved in a series of controversies in the past when he posted a photo with Popeye, Pablo Escobar's former hitman, and also when he shared a picture of himself with a grenade and a revolver. On both occasions, he had to delete the posts.
Maidana is 34 years old and has not stepped into a ring for almost four years. His physique has changed drastically since he stopped training, at the same time that his media exposure has grown since he opened his account on Instagram.
Some estimates claim that the Chino raised over $15 million after fighting twice with Mayweather between May and September 2014. He ended his boxing career with 35 wins and 5 losses.
