Leandro Benegas ends his goal drought with Universidad de Chile victory
It took Leandro Benegas over three months to finally break his goalless streak with Universidad de Chile. Against Rangers, the striker ended his 94-day goal drought by scoring in the 3-0 blue victory in Talca.
The last goal from the former Calera player had happened precisely against his former team on the last matchday of the Clausura Tournament, when he scored the consolation goal in the 50th minute of a 1-2 defeat for Universidad de Chile.
However, the 'Toro' hadn't had many opportunities, as he had only played a total of 120 minutes between his last goal and the one he scored against Rangers. In the 79th minute, he secured the 3-0 victory for Universidad de Chile, providing much-needed relief for the striker.
