National Team seeks to stay in the lead
In Atletico National, they look at the table and don't relax. The goal is to go for more this Wednesday (7:45 p.m.) against Deportivo Pasto in the advanced match of the fifth round, which could leave the paisa team as the sole leader of the Liga Aguila II-2015 if they manage to prevail at the Atanasio Girardot.
After defeating (1-0) Envigado, with a goal by Jéfferson Duque, and reaching the 10 points that left them co-leaders of the tournament along with Santa Fe, in the green squad the demand has increased and they hope to win with strength.
"The demand of Nacional is very high. We have to play a perfect match and play well to always get three points," said coach Reinaldo Rueda, who will make changes to the lineup for tonight's match against the Pasto team.
In the midst of the relief generated by being undefeated in the Liga and having a clean sheet, the national team still does not meet the expectations of the fans and the coaching staff. That's why they hope to dispel all doubts against Pasto and record their fourth victory in the Finalización.
"I am restless. I am a permanent dissatisfied person. We are stabilizing concepts. We are on the right track, but apart from the results, we want quality of play and a higher level," said the strategist.
Pasto, which is seventh in the table and has felt little change in its squad, comes motivated by their victory (2-1) over Once Caldas in the previous round. "It is a team that is growing and improving in its structure. It will be another equally demanding match for Nacional," said the coach.
The goal in this game, which was advanced due to the realization of the Feria de las Flores in Medellin, is to have more depth, not lose control of the match, and finish the plays better.
For this presentation, Nacional will have its main novelty in the goal after Franco Armani was not concentrated. Between Camilo Vargas and Luis 'Neco' Martinez, there is the goalkeeper who will play tonight. The return of Luis Carlos Ruiz and Oscar Murillo is also expected, while Alejandro Guerra would remain as a replacement for Jonathan Copete.
"Alejandro has always performed better. He has the willingness to adapt to other positions and because of that versatility, he provides a good alternative," said Rueda.
