“I’m content”, indicated Guardiola after his side’s 3-0 over Milan in the second semi-final of the 2015 Audi Cup. The win came as a small respite after the Catalan coach’s moments of tension with local German media following Bayern’s German Super Cup defeat to Wolfsburg on Saturday.
Guardiola also made it clear that his Bayern side don’t go into tonight’s game in the best of shape: "We played in a final last Saturday, another game today and I am struggling for defenders, we’ll see how the game against Madrid works out".
The former Barça also added that facing Madrid had no special significance for him but that the game would be a great chance to meet up with former Bayern midfielder, Toni Kroos again.
Guardiola has come in for heavy criticism over the past few days. Matthaus stated that Pep is not the world's best coach and that Mourinho is. Borussia Dortmund president, Watzke, claimed that Klopp is the ideal candidate to coach Bayern. Last night’s win over Milan has given Guardiola certain breathing space and this can be improved on if his Bayern side can overcome Real Madrid this evening.
