The Eibar coach wants an intense and hardworking team

The Eibar coach, just like he did on the day of his presentation a month ago, assured today in a press conference that he wants "an intense and hardworking team in the matches."

One day before leaving for Tenerife, where the Eibar team will stay until Saturday and play two matches (against CD Mensajero on Thursday and against CD Tenerife on Friday), the coach from Zaldibar preferred not to reveal the keys to his team's playing style.

He highlighted, on the other hand, that the squad is gradually being completed (currently there are 19 players in the first team), although there are still three or four signings to be made: a center back, a central midfielder, and an attacking midfielder. "Almost all of us are new, including myself, and we are all learning. That's what preseason is for. I have to get accustomed to them, and they have to get accustomed to me."

Regarding the ten players signed by the club, Mendilibar has stated that "what has come is what we wanted and what we were looking for. Now all the teams want to do things, and signings become complicated. Let's see if we can fine-tune without going crazy, without rushing but without pausing."

The Basque coach predicts that "the four remaining preseason matches (the two in Tenerife this week and against Numancia and Valladolid next week) serve to bring the team together."

The new occupant of the Eibar bench has shown confidence that the numerous signings won't make it difficult for the team to start the season in top form. "Sometimes it is hard to get started after bad beginnings. Sometimes results help players more than good play. The mind weighs more than the physical, technical, and tactical aspects."
