Terrible accident of Stoner in Suzuka: suffers two fractures
Casey Stoner will have to undergo surgery due to the injuries he suffered in his serious fall in the 8 Hours of Sukuza (July 26). The Australian rider has announced it on his official Twitter account: "After today's scans, the shoulder is fine, only fractured scapula. The ankle will need surgery, almost the same injury as Indy 2012, 6 weeks of recovery :(".
Stoner went down due to a malfunction of the throttle cable, according to HRC and fractured his right scapula and the tibia of his left leg. The Australian retired after the 2012 World Championship and, although he is still linked to HRC by conducting tests and helping develop their motorcycles, the 8 Hours of Suzuka was his first competition since his retirement.
