Gijón will host next year's outdoor athletics championships in Spain, and Madrid will host the indoor championships
by agreement of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Federation, meeting today in Castellón.
The Las Mestas sports center in Gijón will be the venue for the 96th edition of the outdoor national championships on July 23 and 24
between the two major events of the season, the European Championships in Amsterdam and the Olympic Games in Rio.
The indoor championships of Spain, on March 5 and 6, will be the inauguration of the track at the Gallur Sports Center in Madrid
whose construction will be completed in the coming months. They will be used to select the Spanish team that will participate in the indoor World Championships in Portland (USA).

- April 17: 10 km Spanish Championship (Alcañiz, Teruel).
- June 4/5: Individual Spanish Championship for children (Valladolid).
- June 18: Federation Spanish Championship (Alcobendas, Madrid).
- June 25/26: Youth Spanish Championship (Mataró, Barcelona).
- July 9/10: Cadet Spanish Championship (Granollers, Barcelona).
- July 10: Veterans Spanish Championship (Castellón).
