Cejudo asks for more competition:

The lack of depth in the wings is evident even for the players. The club continues to look for pieces and the one from Puente Genil stands out with their moment.

Álvaro Cejudo surprises with his preseason

Álvaro Cejudo surprises with his preseason, he looks much fitter and faster than in a previous season, the promotion season, in which he barely played, among other things, due to his lack of fitness. The Cordoba footballer is currently the only offensive winger in the green and white squad, not being a pure winger, but instead of demanding recognition, he is honest and says what almost everyone thinks about Betis' current needs: that it is urgent to sign players with flair and creativity up front: "It is true that, according to what is being said, someone needs to come. It is true that it is just me and I am not a pure winger either. Maybe a bit of speed, which is what they are looking for, would not be bad. All competition is good as long as the team wins matches, regardless of individualism".

Cejudo denies those who ruled him out a few weeks ago: "I did not consider leaving nor was I told anything by the club about what has been commented in the media. Far from it."

From Puente Genil, he hopes that things will be very different for him this year, although he puts the collective results of a Betis that has not yet achieved good results this summer ahead of his own well-being: "I am very excited and I will give it my all so that the circumstances are favorable. Hopefully it continues like this throughout the year and I can bring a lot of joy to Betis fans, but right now I am a bit upset because we are not managing to control the matches and bring them to our side. Hopefully soon we can reverse this and start winning matches."

Top scorer of Betis' preseason

Álvaro Cejudo has scored two goals this preseason, against Athletic and Darmstadt on Friday, making him the joint top scorer alongside Molina in the six friendlies played by the green and white team. The other scorers for Betis have been Rennella, Juanma, and Pezzella. Despite playing against two lower division rivals like Coria and San Roque, Betis has had a negative balance, with 11 goals conceded and only seven scored. In none of the matches have Betis managed to keep a clean sheet.
