Finland's Roope Kakko wins the Madeira Open golf tournament
Kakko has won the Madeira Open golf tournament after delivering an excellent fourth card with 63 strokes (nine under par), for a total of 264 (-24), achieving his first victory on the European Tour.
The 63 strokes made by Kakko this Sunday, without any mistakes, with an eagle (hole 10, a par four of 361 meters) -his third one made in this edition of the Portuguese tournament-, and seven birdies, is the best round of all players in these four days.
Only Scottish player Andrew McArthur, also this Sunday, has delivered a card with 63 strokes in this Madeira Open, allowing him to finish in third place. However, six strokes behind the leader.
Between them, in second place, three strokes behind Kakko, is Scottish player Scott Henry, who made a fourth round with 66 strokes.
Swedish player Pontus Widegren, who started the day as the leader, with a one-stroke advantage over Kakko and Henry, finished in fourth place after shooting par (72) this Sunday.
Among the Spanish representation, the best performer has been Nacho Elvira, finishing in eighteenth place, with a total of 278 strokes, after shooting a 68 on the final day.
