Interest from PSV Eindhoven in Hector Moreno
Although the written offer is still pending, PSV Eindhoven's strong interest in Hector Moreno is an open secret. Upon his return to the Dutch club after competing in the Gold Cup, Andres Guardado confirmed the proposal in an interview with 'De Telegraaf'.
"I have spoken with him," said the former Deportivo and Valencia player, referring to the Espanyol center-back, with whom he spent the entire tournament with the Mexican national team. "He is happy and flattered by PSV's interest," he revealed. And he added: "It depends on him to decide. Hector has other offers. I do not know if he will come," he admitted, "but he is a good footballer." It should be noted that, as reported by AS in its edition on Saturday, the Dutch club hopes to finalize the signing before next Saturday, when the Eredivisie begins. The offer will be around five million euros.
'Fiore' fades away.
Another club that was interested, Fiorentina, was very close to signing Davide Astori, a center-back from Roma, in the past hours, so Moreno would be left without the option of Serie A.
However, this move could reignite Stuttgart's interest, as Astori was their first choice, although they will hardly be able to compete financially with PSV.
He played his first 30 minutes on Saturday
Four days after returning to training with Espanyol, last Tuesday, Hector Moreno played his first minutes of the season on Saturday. The center-back came on in the 60th minute of the match against Reading, exactly one month after undergoing surgery in Houston (United States) to remove some screws from his right foot. It is evident, in his quick readaptation, that Moreno took advantage of his time with the Mexican national team in the Gold Cup to get fit.
