Roman Reigns, who won the Intercontinental belt in the previous edition of WWE by defeating The Miz, made his first championship defense against Elias Samson.
The match on Raw was even, with Elias having several good moments in the ring and opportunities to win the title. However, Roman Reigns resisted and retained the championship with a spear.
