The former president of the company Torneos y Competencias is released on bail of 20 million and will wear a GPS bracelet.

Alejandro Burzaco, former president of Torneos y Competencias company, reached a deal to collaborate with the FBI and the United States' Justice and was set free after posting a $20 million bond. He surrendered his passports (Argentinian and Italian). He will not be allowed to leave New York and will have to wear a GPS tracking device bracelet. The same measures were imposed on another accused, former FIFA vice president Jeffrey Webb.

Burzaco is a key figure in the FIFAGate scandal as he is accused of paying over 100 million euros in bribes through Datisa, the company created by Torneos y Competencias, Traffic, and Full Play to obtain television rights for CONMEBOL and CONCACAF tournaments, including the last Copa América in Chile and the upcoming editions in 2016 (United States), 2019 (Brazil), and 2023 (Ecuador).

Burzaco, who was extradited on Wednesday and appeared in front of Judge Vera Scanlon of the Eastern District of New York Courts on Saturday morning (Spanish time), pleaded 'not guilty' to the charges against him: corruption, money laundering, and conspiracy. Prior to his extradition, he had reached an agreement with US judicial authorities to reduce his sentence. He has committed to cooperating with the US Justice system and providing details of the operations and the names of the people he made agreements with. Burzaco had a close relationship with Julio Grondona, former president of the Argentine Football Association who has since passed away.
