Justino Compéan took the vacancy left by Alberto de la Torre in 2006 at the Mexican Football Federation.

Although he already had experience at the federation level: he was Guillermo Cañedo de la Barcena's right-hand man in obtaining the Mexico 86 World Cup berth, being responsible for Marketing and Press at the Organizing Committee.

Under his leadership at Femexfut, Mexico conquered the Toulon Hope Tournament in 2012, as well as the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics.

Compeán, a graduate in Business Administration, was the director of the Azteca Stadium and became president of the Mexican Football Federation starting in 2006. During his years in charge, Mexico also won the U17 World Cup in 2011 and the Gold Cup in the same year.

The Mexican Football Federation also achieved a record income of nearly $200 million per World Cup cycle (between South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014). Lastly, he was appointed Vice President of the CONCACAF Executive Committee.
