According to the Brazilian media, the Argentine had a complete agreement to join the São Paulo team after the Copa America, thanks to a negotiation that was sealed in March.

"There were five meetings, the last one in London. The coach agreed to a salary and closed everything to become the new tricolor coach," the media affirms.

However, the coach's departure from Chile gradually faded for a specific reason: the São Paulo leadership did not comply with the confidentiality clause requested by the coach.

"Sampaoli became indignant when the information was disclosed, called the president and told him that he would not go to the club, therefore the agreement was broken," it adds in the information.
