Max Biaggi sets fastest time in first day of free practice
Max Biaggi set the fastest time in the first day of free practice for the tenth round of the Superbike World Championship taking place in Sepang (Malaysia). Replicating the performance he already displayed in his comeback at the Misano circuit, the 44-year-old veteran Roman rider, competing as a guest rider aboard an Aprilia, outperformed his rivals, with a lead of two tenths over Chaz Davies, winner of both races at Laguna Seca.
Biaggi's best time holds up in rain-interrupted session
Biaggi of free practice, after which it started to rain in Sepang, preventing any improvements in lap times during the second session. Championship leader Jonathan Rea set the third fastest time, ahead of his teammate Sykes and the Aprilias of Haslam and Spain's Jordi Torres.
Cantabrian rider Román Ramos set the twelfth fastest time, while Mallorcan rider David Salom qualified fourteenth in anticipation of tomorrow's final free practice session and Superpole.
