Manchester United Fans Prefer De Gea Sale
The fans of Manchester United prefer that their team sells Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea this summer and hires another reliable goalkeeper before he leaves next summer for free, once his contract ends. This is revealed by a survey conducted by the city's most popular newspaper, Manchester Evening News.
In the online poll, 45% of internet users marked the option: Sell De Gea now and buy another reliable goalkeeper. 32% of the fans selected the option: Keep De Gea and let him leave for free next summer. While only 23% marked the option: Sell him now and give the opportunity to another goalkeeper from the academy.
With just a week to go before the Premier League starts (August 8th), the deadlines are getting shorter and it is important for both Manchester United and Real Madrid, the probable destination of the goalkeeper, to close the saga in the next few days.
In response to the "threat of De Gea leaving", as stated by United's coach, Van Gaal, the Red Devils signed Argentine goalkeeper Romero on Monday. On the other hand, the attempt of the English club to link De Gea's departure with the arrival of central defender Sergio Ramos at Old Trafford is no longer of interest in the negotiation, now that the Andalusian defender and Real Madrid have come closer to an agreement.
