The president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the German Thomas Bach, said on Wednesday that the 2016 Olympic Games will leave "a great legacy for the people of Rio de Janeiro," the city that will host "a great sporting event" in Brazil, which was the venue for the last World Cup last year.
