Hugo Rodallega was in Turkey for a few days to join Akhisar Belediyespor, but the signing could not be finalized.
This Wednesday, the club made it official that they have signed the forward, who told AS Colombia : "It had not been defined before due to a time issue. I had to return to the country to resolve some personal matters."
In a brief contact from Akhisar, the former Fulham player confirmed that the contract was signed for two years and rejected an offer from Portugal because "it was not as serious as this one from Turkey."
Rodallega, who has also worn the jerseys of Wigan, Monterrey, Necaxa, Atlas, Deportivo Cali, and Deportes Quindío, becomes the second Colombian in the Turkish Super League (Pedro Franco was already at Besiktas).
Other national footballers who have played in Turkish football include Faryd Mondragón, Óscar Córdoba, Róbinson Zapata, Gustavo Victoria, and Teófilo Gutiérrez.
