FMF Seeks a Replacement for Miguel Herrera
Amidst the turbulence caused by Miguel Herrera's departure from the Mexican National Team, the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) has already taken action to find a replacement. Several names are being considered, but information has already been requested for three candidates: Jorge Sampaoli, Marcelo Bielsa, and Ricardo 'Tuca' Ferreti.
According to a source close to the negotiations for the new national coach, the FMF contacted Miguel Ángel Garza, Sporting Delegate of Tigres, this afternoon to request permission to speak with 'Tuca' Ferreti once the Copa Libertadores ends on Wednesday, August 5th.
Although they know that Ferreti has rejected the position with the national team on a couple of occasions, the Federation's interest is genuine and they want him along with his entire coaching staff, including Miguel Mejía Barón, Luis Flores, Hugo Hernández, Rubén González, and Vicente Munguía.
Tigres has authorized the negotiation and it will only depend on Ricardo Ferreti to say yes or no to the National Team. When he found out this afternoon that they will be reaching out to him, he only smiled and said "we'll talk later" before continuing on his way.
