An assemble meeting by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has been set for July 14 at their Las Rozas headquarters. As part of the agenda, the 2015/16 La Liga fixtures will be decided. There is a proposal from the LFP that league activity commences on the weekend of August 15/16. This proposal needs to meet the approval of both the RFEF and AFE (Player’s representative agency). The idea is that the fixture list falls into line with the UEFA calendar and the European Super Cup which is scheduled to be held on August 11 in Tbilisi between Sevilla and FC Barcelona.
The full fixture list also has to take into consideration the dates for the Spanish Super Cup which will be a two legged affair between Barça and Athletic Club and the remaining Euro 2016 group C matches that Spain is involved in.
Assuming that all sides are happy with the start date proposal, as of late morning on July 14, we will have a full fixture list for Spain’s Primera and Segunda divisions for the 2015/2016 season.
