is currently doing pre-season with Chelsea. In this context, he spoke again about the dialectical duels he has had with Manuel Pellegrini, because the Chilean showed himself very distant from the principles and actions of the Portuguese coach in an interview he gave to El Mercurio, a Chilean newspaper, while resting in Chile, after closing the year with Manchester City.

"When a coach is on vacation and thinks about me, it's their problem. I have nothing to say. I don't know why he spoke to the press. I don't give interviews when I'm resting," said the Portuguese coach in an interview with The Guardian.

"Of course, I think about football when we are out of the season. But rest is essential, and I prefer to be away from questions and controversies. If others use their vacations to also give interviews, it's up to them," he added to the British newspaper.

Finally, delving into the apparent antinomy, Mourinho explained why he once confused the surname of the Chilean with that of the current coach of Independiente and former Valencia and Barcelona football player, Mauricio Pellegrino, which was clearly taken as a sharp irony in Europe.

"I had Mauricio Pellegrino as a player, and there is also Mr. Manuel Pellegrini. I always mistakenly call them by the wrong name. The last thing I would do is disrespect them," said the former coach of Real Madrid and Inter Milan, among other teams.
