Paraguayan Fulvio Chávez arrives in Lima to trial with Universitario de Deportes
The Paraguayan Fulvio Chávez has arrived in Lima to undergo a trial period and try to convince coach Luis Fernando Suárez that he can make a difference at Universitario de Deportes. The midfielder has already passed the medical exams and, after receiving approval, has started training.
This Monday, Fulvio Chávez trained for the first time with the team, but did not participate in the practice match. This comes after Universitario de Deportes's defeat against León de Huánuco and their drop to last place in the standings. "I know I'm joining a big team and I want to be the solution," he said upon arrival. Now is the time to prove it.
The midfielder hasn't played since March 6, 2015, when he played 21 minutes with the Sportivo Luqueño shirt against Sol de América in the Paraguayan tournament. Note that in 2012 he was selected for the Under-20 team, under the command of Víctor Genes, and played a match with Paraguay against Uruguay. However, injuries greatly affected his future.
If he passes the trial at Universitario de Deportes, Fulvio Chávez would be on loan with an option to buy. His salary is within reach for the cream team and there would be no major issues.
Universitario de Deportes trained normally at Campo Mar behind closed doors and will travel to Huancayo this Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. to play the match for the 13th round of the Apertura Tournament.
