Gipuzkoa Basket announces new signings
The Gipuzkoa Basket, after signing Andrew Lawrence, announces more reinforcements. On one hand, they have finally secured the base player from Mallorca, Pedro Llompart, who will be a new player for the team after confirming that both parties have reached an agreement for the next two seasons. Llompart, 33 years old, who was not renewed by CAI Zaragoza, will try to help San Sebastian's team to achieve permanence by contributing with his great experience in the Endesa League, where he has played for Valencia Basket, Lucentum Alicante and CAI Zaragoza in the last three seasons, also participating in the Eurocup last year. Last season, he averaged 4.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in an average of 24 minutes.
In addition, the Basque club has announced the signing of the Croatian small forward Zoran Vrkic, coming from Sibenik in his country, for the next three seasons. Vrkic, 27 years old, already has experience in the Endesa League, as he played the 2013-14 season with Dominion Bilbao Basket, as well as in the leagues of Italy, Slovenia, and Greece, in addition to having played for several teams in his country, where he has been part of Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar, and Sibenik.
In Sibenik, the 2.00 meters tall small forward became the top scorer of the Croatian league, with averages of 15.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1 assist. In this way, he joins Jaume Ponsarnau's project, as they will fight for permanence in the Endesa League.
