Cúcuta had to wait 268 minutes to celebrate their first victory in the Liga Águila II-2015. This Sunday they defeated 1-0 Patriotas with a penalty goal from Gustavo Bolívar, in the third round match. At home, they found the path to victory, it gave back the excitement to their fans at the 88th minute of the game.
They did everything to win, they had the best goal opportunities, they controlled the rhythm of the match and prevailed in the General Santander. Patriotas hardly appeared in the match, they had a few outstanding actions but did not unbalance. The hierarchy of players like Germán Centurión in defense and Bolívar in the midfield threatened the opponent.
But in the final minutes everything indicated that the home team's first point would come from a goalless draw. But a foul by Patriotas' defender, Harold Macías, in the penalty area painted the path to victory.
Gustavo Bolívar did not hesitate for a moment to take the ball and go to the shot. The midfielder showed confidence and with a powerful right-footed shot, managed to defeat the net and celebrate the first goal of the Norte de Santander team in the championship. But especially, he celebrated furiously the three golden points that took Cúcuta out of last place in the relegation table and give them hope of staying in the top flight.
The team led by Flabio Torres reached 87 points in this table and sent Uniautónoma back to last place with 85 points.
The next match for the Cúcuta team will be again at home, they will host Millonarios on Friday at 8 p.m., in the fourth round of the League.
