Iker Casillas continues firm in his position of staying at Real Madrid in the chess game that his future has become. However, with the possible arrival of De Gea, which would force him to leave, the captain has his preferences, and London would be his ideal city. There, two clubs could potentially be his destination: Tottenham and Arsenal. According to The Independent, the former will make an offer for the captain. They talk about a three-way move in which three clubs would exchange goalkeepers. Lloris would go to United, De Gea to Madrid, and Iker would end up at White Hart Lane.
Arsenal showed interest in Casillas last year, but the option did not materialize because they wanted him for free. Wenger still sees the arrival of the white captain with very good eyes because neither Ospina nor Szczesny completely convince him. The Gunners have an advantage over Tottenham: they are qualified for the Champions League. The third party involved is Crystal Palace, but they have the least chances among the London clubs. Despite London being Casillas' first choice in case he has to leave, he does not rule out Rome (Roma is interested) or Paris (PSG).
Casillas' situation has not changed. He says he wants to continue at Real Madrid. His idea is for the club to tell him that they want him to leave so that they pay him the remainder of his contract: €7.5 million for this season and €7 million for the next one (€14.5 million in total). Real Madrid, on the other hand, maintains its position that they want him to stay (as José Ángel Sánchez conveyed), but they leak that they are going to bring De Gea and that Casillas would be the third goalkeeper to put pressure on him to make the decision to leave (and the club would save €14.5 million).
