Daniel Ricciardo, third in Hungaroring, downplayed the contact he had with German Nico Rosberg during the Hungarian GP that left his rival with a blown tire and out of contention for the podium.

"I pushed hard in the last stint when I was on the new soft tires, so I had the chance to go for the race. It's a shame that Nico and I made contact, but I gave it my all and left everything I had on the track," he valued the impact that had repercussions against Rosberg.

The Australian was proud of his third place on a circuit where Red Bull placed both of its drivers on the podium. "It was a race full of events but I am very proud. It has been a mix of emotions but I am grateful to be among the top three," he pointed out.

The 15 points in Hungaroring, the best result of the season, fuel the oceanic's desire for the second half of the calendar. "It has been a tough year and getting two cars on the podium is quite surreal," he concluded.
