The Brazilian captain Miraildes Formiga opened the scoring in the 6th minute. Precise header after a cross from the left. It was a hard-fought match. Brazil imposed conditions in attack and forced the national team to defend near the goal in the first half.
Colombian goalkeeper Sandra Sepulveda suffered a blow to her left shoulder and had to be replaced by Paula Forero after halftime. Coach Felipe Taborda also made a change in the offensive zone. Catalina Usme came in for Tatiana Ariza.

The highlight of the match was Maurine Dorneles' goal. She came on in the 73rd minute and the first ball she touched ended up in celebration. Brazil's second goal was an Olympic goal. In the 86th minute, a shot from Andressa Alves troubled the Colombian defense, who put the ball into their own net. The fourth Brazilian goal came in extra time thanks to Fabiana da Silva.
In the group stage of these Games, Colombia defeated Mexico and Argentina and drew against Trinidad and Tobago. In the semifinals, they eliminated Canada. The Superpowers continue to gain experience and achievements. In Toronto, they won silver, and in one year, the Olympics in Rio will be their next big test.
