Unknown player surprises in Getafe's pre-season match
Little was known about him until two days ago when he suddenly appeared at the stage that Getafe is holding in England. The biggest surprise was seeing him as a starter in Getafe's first pre-season match. Escribá must know something about Wanderson, as he trusted him with the starting position, being the only academy player out of the eight who are in Chesire to form part of the starting eleven against Port Vale (2-2).
Wanderson Maciel Sousa Campos was born on October 31, 1994 (20 years old) in Sao Luis, Brazil. He is currently on trial with Getafe B and it is very possible that he will be signed to play for the reserve team this season. Wanderson has dual nationality, Belgian and Brazilian. In 2013, he was signed by Lierse (Belgian First Division) after becoming a free agent from Beerschot. Getafe is considering acquiring him even though he has a contract with Lierse.
Wanderson is the son of former footballer Wamberto, who played for Ajax and Standard Liege. His older brother, Danilo, is also a footballer. He was trained at Ajax, then moved to Standard Liege, then to Metalurh Donetsk in Ukraine, and currently plays for Mordovia in the Russian league.
