Chelsea are not prepared to let Filipe Luis go to Atlético that easily. The player has spent the past two days in the Spanish capital waiting for the move to be ratified and subsequently he would join up with Simeone’s squad. He traveled to Madrid with permission from Chelsea and on Thursday, Mourinho stated that the defender had been sold to Atletico. The player underwent his medical revision once again with the West London clubs approval and Atleti have just been waiting for the submission of the last few remaining documents before the deal is officially closed.
However, late last night Chelsea approached Atleti again stating that they now wanted more money for the player over and above the 15 million euro fee that had previously been agreed between both sides from the opening stages of the negotiation. Atleti feel that Chelsea are playing ‘hardball’ but the London based club have also informed the player that if no move is concluded then he will be forced to return to pre-season training with ‘The Blues’.
